Michael’s practice focuses on the defense of litigated matters in the areas of commercial, toxic tort, personal injury and products liability. He also has experience handling complex business and financial fraud litigation, as well as counseling clients in litigation-avoidance strategies. Michael has participated in all facets of litigation, from initial case evaluation and discovery through arguing dispositive motions and trial. 

Michael is admitted to the bar in New Jersey and New York, and has argued cases before courts through all stages of litigation. He has successfully tried cases in New Jersey and obtained favorable results for clients in both mediation and arbitration proceedings.   

While attending law school, Michael participated in multiple legal clinics, advocating on behalf of pro se litigants in the Southern District of New York and juveniles in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County. Further, Michael was a competitor for Seton Hall University School of Law’s Mock Trial Team. Michael’s competitive drive in law school and practice stems from his former martial arts career, where he obtained eleven world championships. 

Prior to joining Coughlin Duffy LLP, Michael worked in private practice specializing in commercial litigation and consumer fraud defense, with a large portion of his practice dedicated to defending new and used automobile dealers, as well as contractors and other home improvement businesses, in various areas of litigation.
